At our November meeting, Cindy LaJoy gave a wonderful presentation about Simple Dreams,
a
missionary organization working with desperately poor people in Kyrgyzstan. During Advent, the Outreach Ministry is “adopting” one family in
particular who is slowly getting on their feet, thanks to the help they have received from Simple Dreams. The mother, Aigula, needs a sewing machine
(or two, if possible) and supplies in order to become self-sufficient.
We are hoping to collect at least $500 in donations. Cindy will actually take the money and make the purchases in Kyrgyzstan next spring when
she is there.
