Our summer retreat, held on the weekend of August 16th at the Mountaintop Retreat in Montrose County, was a huge success! We had 27 participants
this year and several people worked together to make it a wonderful experience for everyone. Todd Schroedel led Morning Watch for us, Cathy
Hartt had a great workshop on "Happiness is Finding Your Calling", Cindy LaJoy presented a session based upon the theme of the retreat, "If You Want
to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat!", and Mary Loncar and Pat Riddell put together an outstanding and very meaningful Sunday morning
worship service for everyone. Thanks to Elisa Heine, our kids were cared for and entertained. And our chefs, Dominick LaJoy and Donald
Vincent, did their usual fantastic job of cooking for everyone.
An event like this is hard to pull off without the contributions of several people, and we were blessed with so many willing to help out. Our
facility at the Mountaintop Retreat was excellent and we will no doubt find ourselves using it again in the future. If any other group within
the church is interested in the details about the facility, please contact me... it is very affordable and well-kept!
